Entertaining In | Hosting at Home

One of our favorite pastimes is gathering with new friends and old in our very own homes. The fine art of entertaining is skill, but it doesn't have to be intimidating, nor does it have to be precious; some of the best moments can be as simple as evening together in a place of familiarity with a fine cocktail in hand. We chatted with Simone about her favorite ways to keep her own approach to entertaining simple, while still taking the time to reconnect with others. Our biggest takeaway? Keep it intimate, source from what you have on hand, and look to Northeast Italy for a Spritz! Read more below.

What’s the entertaining rule you never break? Soft lighting from multiple sources is key, there must always be enough to drink, and make sure that no one leaves hungry or craving sweets!

Secret to a great dinner party: Keep your mood relaxed and welcoming mixed with elegance and refinement. Your guests should feel like they’re stepping into a great friends home while also feeling like the evening is special. I also love takeaway gifts for guests. Something simple - like our S/L Ember Candle or our Bordeaux Leather & Suede Coasters. I believe in graciousness.

What’s your signature cocktail? Aperol Spritz!

A simple Aperol Spritz: Fill a champagne flute or a favorite glass with ice. Pour Prosecco over, then add a splash of Aperol and club soda. Twist an orange rind or wedge to top it off. Share, sip and enjoy!
